Hearst communications inc, better known as simply Hearst, is an American multinational media and business conglomerate based in New York City. Hearst owns an assortment of magazines, newspapers, television channels and stations, as well as multiple business information companies. In the 1920's and 30's Hearst owned the biggest media conglomerate in the world, which included a number of magazines and newspapers in major cities. When William Hearst, son of the original George Hearst, founded Hearst corporations, and grew the Hearst owned magazines and newspapers a readership from 15,000 to over 20 million. This is an evident result of the growing market for magazine consumption and the industries popularity, but also the commercial success of William Hearst and the corporation.
As mentioned previously the brands peak ranged between the 1920s and the 1930s, the most notable event being the merge of Hearst and Cosmopolitan in 1925, and as well as this Hearst began to create Cosmopolitan pictures throughout the 20s.
As Hearst is the conglomerate that this brief centres around, its important to know what modern magazines they are in ownership of in order to align with the representations and create a similar look to the magazines they currently own.
